I like to call this one: "I dream of Jeannie..." Note the "pro" dialogue at the bottom. Love it!

Scott must have guilty feelings to be shocked to wake up when he recognizes Jean.  Maybe she's intruding in his mind or maybe he's putting her in there himself.

So great.  Stuart and Wade threw themselves into this project headfirst and never came up for air.  The balance of black and white on the page is sensational, and the way that panel 5 is laid out (Cyke facing upwads) and inked (with the solid black in the top corners, as well as Cyclops's gloves) really feels like he's extricating himself from the tendrils of sleep (or something... darker!).  BRILLIANT way to start an issue!  Fantastic storytelling (to say nothing of the beautiful figure work on Scott and those haunting images of Jean)!  Really, really beautiful page, Paul.  Great pick up!

Jason, GREAT point about panel 5's use of black to come out of the dream sequence. Makes perfect sense now that you point it out. And the last panel's boxed background to signify the shift out of the dream...brilliant is right. We see many "action" poses in superhero comics, but I always appreciate beautiful "normal" poses interspersed. And this page has them throughout.
