Rob did some wonderful stuff. What a sad and horrible end for him and his wife.
It truly has been a gut wrenching few days. So sad, just heartbreaking. :(
This one really hits me like a punch in the gut, especially considering he circumstances of his and his wife's demise. A great man, a great activist, a great actor, a great director ... what a director! When you look back at his works, each movie is more significant, enjoyable & memorable than the last. We lost so much ... RIP, Rob Reiner, and thank you so much.
I know exactly where you're coming from. I mean, all these losses are sad, right? But this one affected me even more than I was truly expecting. Yes, he was a great human being. Obviously I only knew him in his capacity as an entertainer. But from everything I've heard and read, he was greatly respected and much loved. As a Director, his track record for me was unmatched. Put it this way, the first 6-7 films he ever directed are all on my favorites list. I only came to that realization today. But I can't say that about any of my other favorite Directors. What makes it so sad is that I think he had so much more to do and so much more to say as an artist. His story should not be over. Nowhere near. But sadly and tragically, it is. In the past, when this kind of loss has occurred, I would normally put on one of their movies (or listen to an album). But honestly, I think if I tried to do that tonight, it would hurt too much. Rest in peace Mr. Reiner. And thank you for all your timeless gifts.
Such a tagic loss. A life worth celebrating
I don't believe in hell. I think we're living in the closest thing to it. Just in my lifetime: JFK. RFK. MLK. John Lennon. Sal Mineo. Wally Wood. Kent State. My Lai. Al the school shootings and mass shootings. 9-11. Gaza. Our psychopath "president". Human tragedy upon human tragedy.
Rob will always live in memory as Meathead and as Snake on The Partridge Family to me.
Tragic end to an amazing creator, may Rib and Michele rest in peace.
