Description
Moonshadow is a comic book fable illustrated with beautifully painted pages by Jon J. Muth. Created by writer J.M. DeMatteis, it’s a quirky, beautiful and poignant adult fairy tale. When this 12-issue maxi-series was first published in 1985 on Marvel’s Epic imprint, it was different than anything I’d seen before it. I feel lucky to have this beautiful page from the first issue, which also serves as the Chapter Three title page.

Finely crafted work for the ages!  One of the most ambitious projects of the time period putting a painted comic into the mainstream to show the maturity of the medium with more humanistic themes.  Simple and effective with a higher level of sophistication.

This comic changed my life.  It portended to what the future held for the medium.  Very nice page.

Found this "comic" as a 16 yo and found myself irresistibly drawn to its innumerable charms. This is a magnificent example of an early memory I truly cherish.
