Dr. Dawson by Rob Minkoff

      Animation art dealer Howard Lowery offered this Rob Minkoff drawing at an attractive price and I was happy to acquire it. In a Facebook comment thread, Rob described The Great Mouse Detective as his big break at Disney. He would rise further to directing The Lion King and other movies. This drawing depicts an early scene where Dr. Dawson escorts the young girl Olivia Flaversham to the home of Basil the detective. Waiting in the consulting room, Holmes returns engrossed in his current investigation and Dawson tries to get a moment for Holmes to speak to Olivia.
