Description**I definitely recommend clicking on this image to enlarge it***Hard to believe this Carnage series is already almost 10 years old. I really enjoyed reading it at the time. Mike Perkins did such an amazing job with the art, making Carnage so much more monstrous and macabre ... the stuff of nightmares. Here is an awesome double page spread from issue #8 of the 16-issue run. Social/Sharing |

Okay, you have me befuddled again. But I'm really curious too. Is this a reference to one of the shows he acted in during his illustrious career?

I'm too scared to enlarge the scan because Perkins brings realism to his nightmarish vision!

Fun Fact: Perkins wanted to do a Tomb of Dracula series, but Marvel didn't think it would sell. So they got Gerry Conway to whip up a treatment for this new Carnage series that was more Horror oriented, in which a bunch of characters spend the series chasing after and hunting Carnage. Mike wasn't a big Carnage fan, but when the premise of the series was told to him, he realized that it was the same as the premise for the original Tomb of Dracula series and that's what got him on board! Due to the Horror bent, he chose to draw Carnage more as a creature than as a humanoid being. It really WAS/IS quite a creepfest!

Sick Carnage DPS! Mike Perkins art always begs to be seen at the highest possible resolutions, gotta love looking in close at all that detail in the inking and brush work. One of the scariest versions of Carnage we've gotten from Marvel to date.
