DescriptionWhile I have been actively curating the Gunslinger Spawn collection a bit, I did it with the knowledge that this page was on the way. This is by far one of my favorite pages from the entire 24 issue run that featured Brett Booth as the artist on the series. I've spoken highly of the creative duo of Booth & inker Adelso Corona and to be able to now own this one...yeah, I'm quite content with where my Gunslinger Spawn collection sits.A rare page from the run showcasing Gunslinger in full Necroplasm powered up form. There is a very story specific reason why this typically underpowered Spawn sports these powers, and it’s a pretty cool moment. This issue was one of the stronger issues from the run with some really great story beat moments. Booth truly channels some of the very best that the 90’s Image style of art had to offer, but his artistic abilities have clearly aged like a fine wine! Booth is doing some of the best work of his career on these modern Spawn titles. Social/Sharing |

I don't know why but Spawn with a big hat is better than regular Spawn.

This is them truly making a statement for their run with a defining image that they can be remembered for! Maybe they were given a heads up of when they would leave the title and started taking bigger shots.

There were a few key images like this throughout (DPS of Gunslinger Spawn with wings, DPS of him in his new horse being two others), and the series as a whole felt like its sole reason for being was to get to the next "something cool" to see. It's still incredibly fun to flip through each of the issues for the art alone, but this issue stands out every time I revisit it.

Thanks Kavi! Yeah man, Booth's art on a Spawn book. Great artist & subject matter pairing to recapture that 90's Image vibe on a modern book!

The best thing about this image, is that it’s not even Gunslinger. It’s Al Simmons “Spawn” disguised as Gunslinger.
The splash page is the big reveal, because Gunslinger doesn’t have the ectoplasm to do what he’s doing. So, we have Al Simmons demonstrating his powers at work.

Very true! Great moment indeed! I'll eventually be posting another page I have from this issue that is actually Gunslinger Spawn but he looks like Spawn. Really fun issue!
