Description
"DEADLINE" UK Magazine Color Cover #35

Early color Evan Dorkin Milk and Cheese cover.

large 12x17 art. Created as two pieces: background seperate, and then characters painted in reverse on a clear mylar sheet. Painted in reverse meaning that on the back of the mylar the ink was done first and then paint was applied to "fill in behind" the inks - like how cell animation used to be done.

This magazine was published in Novemeber of 1991, soon after the first Milk & Cheese comic from SLG in March 1991 and the other cover for "X" magazine i have in the gallery. It was probably the first, if not only painted cover for M&C?

Yes, that wedge of cheese is grabbing his crotch. There was alot of hate in 1991.

What an all out blitz of of humor and energy!  Even Milk and Cheese were too much of a wild card for the mainstream in a decade full of crass humor!
