Seeing this original version is amazing.
amazing. this is a manga that i visited long ago, but seeing this is inspiring me to go back and read further. I always loved the concept of the book and the casual acceptance of the absurd throughout.

congrats! spidey covers are always great to add. i really like the markings of the in silhouette (i clearly see face, teeth and hands) that mirrors the figure of kraven himself. its a fun design.... the markings could have been handled much better in the coloring of the final cover. i prefer the b& w by far.
this is amazing, josh. very happy for you. tbh, for me KC is the last time the DCU was really truly awesome - and you got such a nice representation of that.
always love these two. great cover.

i am a sucker for concept issues. this one was grand. you normally can miss vin's subtle body language, shifts of weight and expressions if you dont pay enough attention to those details, but in this issue its brought out front and center and its amazing.
awesome jeff.
having just seen this, the reds really flatten out in the scan and alot of gorgeous purple/marroon undertones get lost, so everyone when looking at it, just dial up the saturation in your heads and you will get a better idea of its glory
great piece josh. hope all is well. another great canadian even if he tries to hide it with a patch.
a lovely page. should have kept it when i had it... gotta love perez.

jeff of shanara!
sweet. i devoured those books in jr high also. totally!
you know i feel like some of the old design and composition lessons are lost on modern illustrators and digital artists. now of course, there are plenty that are fanststic,e tc and i dont want to start some sort of debate...but the use of color here is a simple and effective design lesson put into practice with outstanding results in terms of not only visual focus but also atmosphere and emotion. her hand through the legs is also a neat taboo little thing thats says so much
always loved this piece. i had forgotten about it... the limited palette and the tones are fantastic
i have studied alex ross' work in comics for a long time. i found that he really started challenging himslef with negative images and more difficult ways of rendering... i assume to challenge himself and keep from feeling bored. i love when he does stuff like this. its simple. but done so effectively and striing but not complicated to achieve in terms of painting.
