Description
Big nostalgia purchase for me. This is the original computer game box art by artist Steinar Lund for Domark's home computer game release of Return of the Jedi. In 1988 Domark released the port of the Atari Arcade machine game for the home computer market.

The artwork was used across platforms including, Commodore 64 (and later the Amiga), Atari, Spectrum and Amstrad. It was released as the flagship title Atari's new graphic chips. It was later re-released by The Hit Squad (and again across platforms).

For me, this is a piece of history from a time when the original Star Wars trilogy didn’t just dominate cinema, but also became part of the earliest wave of mass-market home computer games. Before modern consoles arrived in the 1990s and long before the countless Star Wars game releases that followed, these early original titles helped define the beginning of interactive entertainment tied to blockbuster film culture. It represents a unique moment when Star Wars expanded beyond movies and became a key part of gaming’s first mainstream era.

The painting is rendered in acrylic paint and ink, applied with both an airbrush and standard brush on black illustration board. Dimensions 28.5" x 20"
