Marshall Rogers Silver Surfer head sketch

F10 - Marshall Rogers is the artist who started it all for me when it comes to my love of the Silver Surfer. When I read the first issue of the third volume, it was thrilling to see the Surfer soar freely in space and escape the confines of his Galactus-imposed imprisonment of earth. Marshall captured the fluid surfer-like motions so beautifully that it really made me buy into Norrin Radd’s space-faring powers. Marshall drew this in 2003 at a convention in Toronto and it was my friend Ron who was able to get it for me. This is the 10th Surfer sketch in the front section of my Silver Surfer sketch book as I continue my 60th anniversary countdown honouring the Surfer’s creation by Jack Kirby.
