Swamp Thing facing off against an angry villager with a scythe. Bernie made only one major alteration from the prelim, clipping the third panel to change its orientation. It's telling how close his original vision is to the final work. He truly had a cinematic gift for dynamic storytelling which elevated him, along with his incredible brushwork, above so many other artists of the time. See additional pic for the published version.

Classic Swamp Thing by Wrightson! His storytelling shined and it all came from from his mind directly to pieces like this. He paces it like a horror director and gets all the action beats into a page!
