Little Lulu And Her Magic Tricks (1954)

Louise "Little Lulu" Muppet is a very smart, but stubborn and always initiates a battle with the boys to show that the girls are as good as them. Lulu is also very creativeand tells stories to Alvin, her six year old neighbor. He is mischievous, bratty and only stops tantrums when Lulu tells a story. He has red hair with a quiff and wears a blue and white ball cap, a white shirt and blue overalls. Both we see on this cover. The stories followed the every day adventures of Little Lulu and the rest of her many friends. The most prominent themes include the boys vs. girls rivalry, Tubby's clubhouse. and mishaps with the troublemaking Westsise Gang. Buell herself stopped drawing the comic strip in 1947. Both Dell and Gold Key produced comics as well as Another Rainbow. Comic book artists include John Stanley, Irving Tripp, and Charles Hedinger. Merchandising campaigns were done with Kleenex and Pepsi-Cola.
