Starman (vol.2) 79 p.12

Having not read the story, this page was kind of an impulse buy. Enjoyed Snejbjerg's work in the Mignolaverse, and the artwork here immediately caught my eye when it appeared on the Romitaman website. I'm partial to art which tells a complete story in one page, and this one definitely fits the bill. The rain, flying figure, and explosions are nicely rendered here. The different camera angles and perspective draw the viewer's eyes across and down the page, adding to the dynamism. And the heavy spot blacks set off the powerful action. Love the crooks' hats and surprised facial expressions in the second panel. Bonus that the word balloons and sound effects are drawn on -- BZZAK! FWOOM! Take that, bad guys!!
