Never heard of The Grappler before but who cares as this cover is awesome!!!
Very cool cover that piques curiosity and instantly builds suspense.
How's she gonna get outta this one?!
Wow now this is a fantastic old school cover!!! Vosburg and Milgrom at their best!! Congrats!
These 80s covers just hit different. Fantastic cover!
I remember buying that issue off the rack in 1981. Later that month, She-Hulk would be featured alongside Spider-Man in Marvel Team-Up, which I also bought. That was a fun month for comics.
The grappler looks a bit like the mole man.. pretty awesome pick up!
Ah, a wonderful cover featuring an aerial assault by the Grappler, whose super power is that he was once a walk-on, NCAA division three wrestler at Middleofbumfucknowhere State University and can make people think he's the Mole Man! He later learned how to fly small aircraft, in the event he ever encountered a superhero who could fly or jump real high, and needed to grapple with them on the wing of an airplance while no one flew it. This guy is AWESOME! Might this be his birth cover?!? Credit to you as well, for getting a cover that Al Milgrom had a hand in. He is a legendary artist and any vintage cover he has worked on now commands six figures minimum! Kudos, bro!
A tied up She-Hulk huh? Yeah you got my attention!
The Grappler sounds like something you can order on an 80's late night Ron Popiel infomercial!
Remember picking this issue up on the newstand, congrats on a great cover!
You said it! It is awesome! Always loved She-Hulk long hair!
Nice cover - really dynamic! Back in the days when She-Hulk was still grappling with limited wardrobe options as well.
The mid-air aerial bondage is strong with this one! Awesome She-Hulk cover! And the first appearance and first cover (only cover?) appearance of The Grappler! congrats.
How cool - congrats !
Fun cover with cool perspective - starting to get a bit of vertigo!
What a great She-Hulk cover with plenty of action and a terrific aerial viewpoint! Vosburg and Milgrom at their best. Congrats on getting this superb Bronze Age cover!
For some reason the Grappler reminds me of the Mole Man. Either way, very cool! Congratulations!
Funny, you're the third one to make that Mole Man comparison. I didn't notice that before, but I can totally see it now. Maybe Moley wanted to change his image and go from the earthly depths to the friendly skies :-)
Classic! Great early Shulkie cover featuring that terror of the airways, the, um, Grappler! (They really pulled out all the stops for Jennifer at the beginning, didn't they? ;) ). But a strong composition here, nicely inked (with the lighter line on the distant backgrounds) to make sure the drama isn't lost (nor the peril undercut!) as the two combatants battle it out over who gets the window seat... And I have to point out just how COOL this thing looks as a whole, with the trade dress and logo right there on the art. I honestly don't have a problem with modern art being "balloon-less", but it is fun and exciting to see all the elements of the whole beautiful cocktail working together when it really -works-! My 10-year old self would have been -all- over this had I seen it at the time! Congrats on adding a cool, early She-Hulk cover, Paul! Love it!
"Grip of the Grappler!" :) Pure vintage goodness, gotta love it! Congrats!
