In the satirical world of Al Capp’s comic strip Li’l Abner, a Kigmy (a play on "Kick Me") is a mythical, dark, big-nosed creature that uniquely enjoys being kicked.
Introduced in 1949 as a follow-up to the immensely popular Shmoo, Kigmies were designed as a social allegory.
Kigmies are masochistic by nature and actively seek out humans to kick them.
