Description
I haven't owned a published Winnie Winkle original by Martin Branner in a number of years, so I was pleased to be able to add this original daily strip to my collection. Winnie Winkle first ran on September 20, 1920, and this daily was published on October 15, 1920, so it's from the very first month of the strip. The drawing has a lot of charm and the gag is sufficiently goofy. But check out that wonderful flop by Winnie and her mom. They even left the broom standing vertically!

Got to love those consisten patterns used for each character.  This is a good gag still over a 100 years later.

Nice daily.  I really like these early dailies from Winnie, Tillie, Blondie and Boots.  Early feminism to go along with the flapper era and suffrage.
