CLICK HERE FOR AUCTION LISTING!Feg Murray (1894-1973) was a well-known artist, writer and cartoonist, drawing the Seein' Stars daily strip from 1933 until 1941; this strip continued in Sunday pages until 1951. Offered here is 4.75x7.25" envelope that has been hand-addressed to Murray and bears June 7, 1945 Reno, NV postmark. Envelope has been wonderfully illustrated w/mixed media original art featuring "The Lisner Bldg. Express Elevator - 1921" which is packed w/an assortment of cartoonists. Of note, Murray is included at right, fresh to the world of cartooning, having just won a bronze medal at the 1920 Summer Olympics. Murray is picture alongside Lew Hymer (1892-1953) known as a successful commercial artist who was also well known for his postcard illustrations, several of which portray the divorce industry. Other artists depicted include Elmer Young and Albert Herter among others. Hymer signed and dated art along bottom. Envelope is evenly aged and shows some scattered handling wear. Envelope was sliced open across back and shows glue staining as once sealed. Fine/VF overall. Art remains clean and Exc.
