Kikomachine Komix Dailies

Kikomachine Komix was first published by the University of the Philippines - Diliman student newspaper Philippine Collegian in 2001. Young Manix was a second year college student. The name "Kikomachine" was derived from the band "Kiko Machine" which also sprang from the UP-Diliman campus, of which Manix is a guitarist. The band name was inspired by the character Kiko Matsing of the Filipino children's television shows Sesame! and Batibot. The comics strips later became a regular fixture of the Philippine Daily Inquirer.

I was able to acquire these three dailies, drawn on a single board, from the man himself at OAX 2026. I was very excited to learn he was offering them at the show, and picked this page at a glance as the hand lettering in the title panel of each strip immediately grabbed me.
