Description
A pretty sweet page featuring Attuma and Namor along with some other nicely drawn Buscema bad-guys (and a giant turtle)! I do dig the page, but in all honesty I picked this one up in hopes of enticing my son Matthew back into the comic art hobby.

Matt has fallen under the deadly spells of Manga Comics and Pokemon cards; sadly comic book artwork has fallen by the wayside! Matt has always liked the Sub-Mariner and Attuma is his favorite villain, so this page is for him! Matt does really like the page, so there is some hope he returns to the comic art fold!

Many thanks to Peerless Paul Handler for trading this one to me!

Wish that Big John had stayed on this book a little longer.  But at least we have those first 8 issues of gorgeous Buscema artwork to enjoy.  I think Subby had some of the best villains Marvel ever created but unfortunately they didn't transfer very well to the surface world, so pretty limited in their appearances.  Attuma, Orca, and Tiger Shark were some of my favorite Marvel villains.  Congrats on this kller page.  And best of luck getting Matt back into the fold.  Although it does crack me up to hear about a dad who is actually trying to get his some addicted to something.  LOL

Manga and Pokemon are strong lures with the younger men in the fam here as well - and throw in MTG.

This is SO MUCH better - why can't they see that?

Congrats - sweet page!

Amen Brother Dave!  Thank you for the comment!  My son is 26 and was married last September; happily(?) his wife is also a Pokemon fan, so they are a good match!  Fingers crossed that they both gravitate towards comic art!!

Subby, Dorma, and Vashti were the flowers of the Atlantic.  I guess Attuma was the stinkweed.  B!tchin' Buscema page!

I've been trying to get my 12 year-old twins into superhero comics for years with little luck.  They'll read plenty of non-Marvel and non-DC graphic novels, but not the stuff that dear old dad likes.  I wish you luck in enticing your son back into the Mighty Marvel fold.  Even if it doesn't work, you got an awesome piece of art for the attempt.

It's important to have an heir to tend the precious collection ;-)
