Description

I really like Matsumoto-san's style. Here is another page from a lesser known but no less well executed work.  I recently saw a major retrosprective of his art in Nagoya, Japan and my appreciation for his line and finesse have reached a new high.  I now have 3 pages by him.

Nice Matsumoto art, definately a distinct style among mangaka! Your manga art posts always lead me down rabbit holes to research information and check out more art by that artist (which I appreciate!).

It's interesting. Even as a non-fan of manga, I can see a different, distinct look to the style. It's like a cross between traditional manga and Franco-Belgian humour art. Congrats on the acquisition and welcome back!

Hot!  Just like the ladies of Star Blazers!  The comedic guys always have to be real nerdy and short as a contrast to them.

Since I was a child, I've been in love with Leiji Matsumoto's style, and this work is a prime example, as are his characters. He created a poetic and interconnected multiverse, where independent narrative threads intertwine and intertwine along a single, melancholic space-time current. For me, he was a genius and a great master of manga art.
