Description
Jamie Jones - Daredevil - OAX '26

I posted Jamie's Cyclops and Jean piece, which is epic. In conversations with Jamie, he stated how much he loves Daredevil. As such, I had to get the ultimate painted piece from Jamie.

Jamie slayed me with this piece. It's timeless. Is it 1930's NYC, is it the '60/70's, or is it today? It doesn't matter because the piece captures the quintessential Daredevil. I love the bird on a wire composition with the trashy Hell's Kitchen in the background. Jamie stated he researched old Hell's Kitchen signs to layer in. The piece is painted on a board with colored pencil to get the rough look of the signage.

Daredevil is agile with a cunning expression. I love the fiery look of the character with a wry smile. Jamie has a particular stance on including suns and moons in pieces, stating (and pardon if I misrepresent) that inclusion of a moonshot should only be there if it advances the story. I love the full moon here!

I immediately need this framed on the wall, forever! Jamie does not miss! Cheers

I love that you mention the time frame here. There is also a lot of great nods and references packed in here. I think Jamie is really talented at capturing some of those illustration techniques from decades ago. His ability to work them into a modern piece of comic art is unique and creates just that in the final piece.
