Superman confronts the Eradicator in its new humanoid form, who once again attempts to rebuild Krypton on Earth causing natural disasters. The Eradicator explains that when Superman threw the device to the sun, it only destroyed the husk, liberating the energies inside, which fused with the sun's core and created this new energy-based form. The "Krypton Man" defeats Superman and escapes after leaving him unconscious.

The next day, Ma and Pa Kent get on board a cruiser to the Bahamas, where they accidentally meet Perry and Alice White. At the Daily Planet, Jimmy Olsen learns about his laying off. The economic struggle is not just the Daily Planet's concern, since all of Metropolis is broke after Luthor's death, which increases the crime rate in the street.

Superman meets with Emil Hamilton to take him and Mister Z's gemstone to the Fortress in Antarctica. There, Superman has a vision of Metropolis being changed into a Kryptonian city and, through satellite broadcasts, sees the natural disasters caused by the Eradicator. He returns to Metropolis to confront the "Krypton Man" again, who's transforming some buildings into Kryptonian architecture. They battle, but the Eradicator's energy-based powers give him the upper hand, incapacitating Superman. He takes the man of steel to space and throws him in the sun, inflicting the same punishment the Eradicator received once.

Poor Abe Lincoln.  Can't catch a break in the theater or at the national mall.
