Description
This is a commission from Rudy Ao. A battle between Thunderbird "John Proudstar" and the mythical monster for the Canadian woods, the Wendigo. thunderbird is an Apache mutant who first appeared in giant size Xmen 1 (April 1975) He was created by Lein Wein and Dave Cockrum as part of The new Xmen. He has the mutant abilities of super strength and super speed and enhanced senses. He was killed on the second mission battling Count Nefaria and the anti-men. The wendigo made a first appearance in the Incredible Hulk 162; He was created by Steve Englehart and Herb Trimpe. The creature is based on the native American legend that any person who commits an act of cannibalism will be transform into this hulking beast with a never-ending hunger for flesh. Rudy did a great job showcasing an all-out battle between these two powerhouses. The piece is acrylic and measures 11.5x 16.5. Rudy is represented by Geoff M at Geoffmart.com if you would like to get a commission from Rudy Aho.

Great idea for the commission with these 2 characters, their individual strengths would make for a tough match up on both sides of the battle! And Aho's composition and acrylics really bring the scene to life in a vivid and colorful way. congrats!

A really cool image, Brian! But, are you on crack? The Wendigo can and HAS taken on the Hulk and Sasquatch, and it took both of their COMBINED power to finally bring him down. Thunderbird is only street level muscle. This matchup is akin to you stepping on an ant. Over in a second!

Ouch - that looks like a brutal opening hit! Great colour constrast, with the density and brightness of Thunderbird's costime against the muted and colours of the winter forest. Lovely commission.

If only they could have met way back when!  OIt would have made for a great story to test Thunderbird's strength against a villain that's been up against the Hulk and Wolverine!

Thunderbird has always been my favorite, I have been kicking this idea around for a few month. Fudy really nailed what I wanted from this piece.
