Superman Oil Painting - Cover of Landmark Issue #100 of Rocket's Blast/Comic Collector 1973

I purchased this painting very shortly after Don's death in 1984. Actually, Don painted more than just this one version of Superman with Krypton in the background. I know that he did paint one that showed Krypton actually exploding and I seem to remember another that was similar to this one, but the specific details as to what made it different escape me -- especially after so many years. Certainly this painting passed through a great many hands before I acquired it, so there are a few places on the painting that have experienced some mild damage primarily in the form of paint rubs, but I don't mind them at all, and as far as I am concerned, it displays just fine!
