Description
This was the start of Wally West’s run as the Flash as most of you probably know. He was the Flash throughout my childhood and I named my greyhound after him. No one cared about Barry, no one missed him when he died, and replacing Wally with him in new 52 was just a terrible idea. The end.

Annnnnnyway… while Jackson Guice drew the final cover, it was actually designed by Ed Hannigan who was never officially credited. If you compare this to the published version, Jackson completely followed Ed’s design, even to the numbering on the jet (92). While the published version is more polished, I feel like it lost the energy and dynamism of Hannigan’s original work.

I appreciate the deadpan sarcasm "aka passion" in the first paragraph of your write up ;) For a huge Wally Wood Flash fan such as yourself this is a really meaningful addition of a cover prelim by Hannigan and as you pointed out isn't far off from the final Guice cover. Nice pickup and congrats!

Thank you! For sure. It's astonishing how many covers he got hired to do the prelims/initial designs for and never got credit. Real shame.
