The figure at the top left watches the pair who stabbed him ride away from the tavern. He had tried to steal from them what may have been the Necklace of Freyja. A kindly-looking stranger approaches him over his bleeding hand. Page 1 of a 2-page sequence.

Not sure if Diaz meant to look like Adams or Hitch here, but the influence seems apparent.

The Sword of Freyja graphic novel (2022) is a series of short stories. This is page 8 from “One Night in a Tavern.”

Quite fantastic with the pencil shading to give everything a complete feel before any inks nor color can saturate to overwhelm the subtleties of Diaz's art.
