Description
This is the original pencil art for page 4 of JLA Classified #20 (2006), illustrated by the legendary José Luis García-López. Part of the "The Hypothetical Woman" storyline written by Gail Simone, this page captures an poignant moment of mentorship and mystery. The scene takes place in the back alley of "Minki's Chili Hut," where a young, discouraged Soldat is seen taking out the trash. He is surprised by the arrival of Green Lantern John Stewart, who appears in full uniform to deliver a message or a summons. The page is a testament to García-López’s technical mastery. Note the perfect anatomy of John Stewart as he flies away in the bottom tier, and the expressive, emotive facial acting of both characters. The final inset panel—showing a business card featuring the Green Lantern Corps emblem—is a fantastic "iconic" shot that adds significant character value to the page.
