Description
OK, indeed! I love these whimsical color pieces Matt has been offering, and couldn't stick with just one. Here's a "traditional" Batman, as opposed to the Absolute Batman I got from him recently, with a plaintive hand, no neck, and a noir word balloon. If this doesn't fill you with joy, we're not cut from the same cloth.
Kudos to Sean and Matt for a smooth transaction!
Thanks for taking a look!

The contrasting style on these pieces is fantastic.

Batman should have brought a gun to the shootout at the O.K. corral ;)

Two things I love, skulls and hands.  Not sure how he does it, but I love the texture he achieves in the colors.

Here's a process video from Matt's Instagram page showing how he does this sort of thing with markers:

One of Allison's great skull pieces!  Really fun how there's realism and cartooning all in one!

With how dead-serious Batman is and we all tend to make him out to be, I appreciate the levity this piece brings to an otherwise dark and brudish table.

Yeah, in my lifetime there was the campy 60s TV Batman, then Neal Adams refashiined him as a serious character, then Miller made him grim & gritty, so the time is ripe for a surreal Caped Crusader.  We have a Batman for all seasons and states of mind and I love every one if these takes

Is he ok tho? I like my skin, so I wouldn't be.

Very playful. The difference in rendering between the shimmering skull, from a very gothic genre, and the Pop Art simplicity of the Batman's neck and cape identify more of a 'gap' than just the missing joint between head and spine. The hand is wonderfully depicted, but like the skull it doesn't feel like it belongs to the Batman.

Crazy cool Batman commission by Matt Allison. Clearly Matt has a different way of looking at things. This portrait of the Dark Knight with a floating skull for a head muttering the word "OK," makes me smile, but I don't know why. It's bizarre, but i kinda like it.

I always knew a unicorn and a catapult would be the way Bats would go.

Color choice is great here and we get some hand lettering! So many techniques that come together every single time. Whatever bubble gum filled core this Batman is made of, I would gladly like a piece. "Double your Cankor, Double your fun!"
