Description

This great splashy page plays on opposite themes. Fun and frivolity against dangerosity and death.

In the first panel, I like that Felicity, like some women, does not like her representation on the wall, showing that she’s not that comfortable with her image despite the fact that she dances naked for a living. Like always with Spiegle, that street background looks entirely natural and grounds the scene.

Then we get another clever storytelling bit in that the first panel overlaps with the second as we switch from the frivolous to the dangerous. The word danger catches the reader’s attention before he gets a sense of the wider panel in which the identified feral beast responsible for all the murders is shown on the wanted poster.

And then the dichotomy of themes previously set in the first two panels is on full display, the young and glamourous Felicity is having fun dancing and exposing her charms at the same time as the town guards are confronted with one gruesome murder after the other. The titillation is light fun, the police work is dead serious.

The staging and the flow of the page are fantastic with Spiegle using both Felicity’s positioning and scarf to lead the reader eye in the right direction throughout.

Just great art and storytelling.

I look through this issue once in a while when you post pages. This is definitely one of the best pages in the book and, once again, confirmation of how good an artist Spiegle was.

My kinda Catwoman page! A superbly composed page by Spiegle with great storytelling and Felicity looks perfect throughout.

Ah, of COURSE you saved the tits and ass! Uh...I mean, of course you saved the best for last, naturally.

I like that the page is framed with the dancing and poster graphics!  Maybe one of the few pin up sexy pieces Spiegle has ever done.

Far better than any Thundercats comic I ever saw in the 1980s.

The dancing nymph is in total contrast to the text.   I agree with Marcus about this being one of the more exotic designed pages by Spiegle.
