Description

Biiiiiggggg item checked off my wantlist this week. I've been chasing a published Larry Stroman X-Factor piece for the better part of 3 years and this one in particular for almost 2 years. I can finally lay down that burden. This was initially published in Comics Interview magazine #105 in February 1992 accompanying an interview with Peter David and Stroman. That puts it roughly 6 months after the team debuted in X-Factor #71. It was subsequently published multiple times as pinups and title page art in collected editions and hardcovers (see additional pics).

It was a roller coaster tracking this down and buying it but all the trials and tribulations were well worth it!

Awesome!  You got your Stroman X-Factor example.  And not just ANY exmple.  This is such a kille pinup.  For me, it definitely falls in the "one and done" category.  Not to say you shouldn't buy any more.  But I imagine this one would be pretty hard to top.  Congrats E!

Man don't get a much better Stroman Xfactor piece. Has all the hallmarks of his run from that era. And Art Thibert on inks! You should get him to fix the fading lines. Interestingly the original b/w pin up has all those blacks but the colored images all of them are missing the faded lines.

Been working on everything you mentioned since I started the chase hahaha. Ultimately, I'm not sure I wanna fix anything since they used both the retouched and original for the published stuff.

Persistence and patience can pay!  Great composition with each character getting some shine  Not hard to see why it was published so many times.  Congrats on checking a BIG one off the list, E!

Are my eyes playing tricks on me or is that dude with the X on his forehead drawn 3 times here? Don't answer that! Congrats E!

This is pretty sick!! Congrats on landing a mega Strownan X Factor piece and the Thibert inks are great too regardless of the aging/condition aspects already discussed in the comments above.

Young man, here's to tracking this down.
I said, young man, you can lay yourself down
I said, Stroman, 'cause you've put some cash down
There's no need to be unhappy.

Young man, this' a place you can show.
I said, Stroman, now you're short on your dough.
You can Thibert, and I'm sure you will find
Many pages will have a good line.

It's fun display of the mutants today
It's fun display of the mutants today

They have everything for mutants to enjoy,
You can hang out with all the boys...

It's fun display of the mutants today
It's fun display of the mutants today

You can get magazine, you can have a good deal,
You can do whatever you feel...

Stroman, are you listening to me?
I said, Stroman, what do you want from me?
I said, Stroman, you can make real Art dreams.
But you got to know these Art inks!

Postman does it all by himself.
I said, Stroman, send the art by yourself,
And just go there, to post office and pay
I'm sure they can help you today.

So much better as OA without the bad yellow Havok halo coloring. Excellent example from Stroman - congrats!

PREACH, brother. Horrible coloring decision on that halo.

Gorgeous pinup! I loved Peter David's run of X-Factor in the 90s that took the team in a whole new direction with bold artwork done by Larry Stroman. I always liked how his drawings were looser and more "stylized" if that makes sense. Congrats on the great pickup!
