Jack Kirby created the Silver Surfer, of course—no debate. One of his greatest.
But when it comes to pure storytelling on the page, John Buscema (with his brother Sal on inks) is pretty tough to beat.
Here they are in full groove—John’s Surfer is sleek, powerful, and just flows, while Sal’s inks bring the punch, the shadows, and that extra drama.
Evil counterpart, dive-bomb into the city, everything about to explode… big, bold, classic Silver Age Marvel.
The “Frankenstein heir” story here is admittedly a bit hokey, but I remember loving the art in this issue… and now I actually own a page.
Wild.
