Description

I really like this one a lot. So many so-called "horror" comic books really only offer up excessive levels of violence & gore. But the "River Run" storyline this issue was part of (written by Mark Millar) was genuinlely creepy & unsettling. Certainly a major factor in that was the moody, atmospheric artwork by Phil Hester & Kim DeMulder, and this page is a prime example of their work on that arc. DeMulder's powerful inking really comes across here, in the original black & white art.

Love the Phil Hester run on Swamp Thing. Lovely piece. And the last panel is quite unsettling!
