Ecstatic to pickup my 1st original Patrick Nagel painting. Acrylic on canvas from 1984. 30x25. The most iconic artist of women of the 1980s. Found in Nagel’s studio after he died, this canvas was one of the last he would ever paint. His work defined an entire era that so many of us grew up in. The pose, the hair, the color palette, it screams 80’s and I love it!

The provenance. Before I won it on HA, this was purchased direct from Mirage Editions in 1984 and is accompanied by a COA stating the painting was in the studio of Patrick Nagel at the time of his death signed by Barry Haun, the artist’s studio assistant. A small acrylic-on-board variant of this image appeared in the February 1984 issue of Playboy.

Nagel’s canvases are highly sought after, and represent the artist’s most realized expressions of his own vision, often created to expand upon ideas he had worked out on board.

Wow! Wow! Wow! What a stunning Patrick Nagel painting! I remember when Playboy used to publish his art almost every issue. To me, Nagel as one of the best contemporary artists. This painting is drop dead gorgeous. Love the pose, love the colors, love the attitude. Awesome pick-up, congrats!
