"Ghah! Stupid Lepidopteran Insects!"

It's easy to forget that Manix had a whole comics career before Manix Mania(TM) arrived, but his Filipino comic strips capture his trademark humor and storytelling. He had some strips available for sale at OAX this year, and it had been picked over a bit by the time I got to look through, but this was one that stood out, even without being able to fully read it. There's some English mixed in, but the visual storytelling helps too. For anyone who's wondered if their partner feels something magical about them, this will only lead to disappointment (and a fear of a feeling of butterflies).

It's really deep and meditative, observational and moody. These are elements that balance out the joy found in his color works.
