Great daily! I can empathize with Dennis, I remember going to Antique store and thinking the same thing!
Hi Thomas! Ketcham was a master at capturing the child perspective. I never seem to tire of these 1950s Dennis comics.
My uncle loved antique stores, and he'd always take me to them. He was a glassware guy. I'd just root around until I found something made of paper. Old newspapers, magazines, anything like that. That was interesting.
Nothing like the smell of old paper. Thanks Steven.
Cool early strip full of ink!
Hi T J - thanks for the comment. Ketcham added a lot of detail to this one!
Great example! Good central early image of Dennis with his parents annoying the bystander. Ha!
Hi Dan! These early Dennis strips are few and far between. There must be a collector out there who keeps buying the good ones? I love the Dennis dailies you have posted in your gallery over the years. Keep them coming!
Dennis might say the darndest things, but it is always rooted in truth.
Hi Marcus - thanks for the comment!
I forget if it was a TV show or a movie, where the character said, "We don't buy antiques, we can afford to get new stuff." One person's antiques are another person's junk. I've always loved Dennis the Menace.
Hi Steven, the sad thing is that I now enjoy antique shops just as much as my parents once did although it is always a little unsettling to see things from my childhood being sold as antique. Thanks for your comment!
Yep, and I still remember the first time I heard a song from when I was in High School on the oldies station. Good times...
Really Nice...
Thanks Al!
Glad that this piece ended up with you, Mark. Well done.
Hi Sean! Thanks so much for selling this Dennis daily to me. This one will be in my collection for a LONG time.
