Mindy Lee - Emma Frost Met Gala - Baroque 2026

Mindy's designs are incredible. When she was taking prompts for characters in Met Gala outfits I had to suggest Emma in a baroque/rococo style fit. In fact, I'd love a whole set of X-Men in this style, however, Mindy immediately connected with the idea and was suggesting a very strong image with a frilly mix of corseted and men's wear constrasted with diamond skin. Mission accomplished.

What I love about Mindy is that she will always surprise you.This piece could have easily been a washout of cool colors to accentuate the diamond form, but Mindy leaned into the creaminess of it all. The fabrics are warm and the pinks and cremes really make the shiny metalic elements pop. There's sparkle and shimmer galore. I also love how you can tilt the piece in the light and get the most magnificent effect. You can see how masterfully she moves between different textures as well. 

The whole piece has this great fashion feel and how great are those shoes! Terrific.
