Mindy Lee - Phoenix Met Gala - 2026

Mindy's designs are so inspiring. She does no wrong and when she posted Met Gala pieces like this I was entranced.

The metalic sparkly gold elements blend so well with the bright yellows and greens. It feels as if the dress is in fact it's own creature, the form of which has merged or taken on the shape of Jean's body. Like Mindy's other pieces there's sparkle and shimmer galore. This piece picks up the light famously and I love how Mindy likes to show Phoenix emerging from water which is both an homage but also captures the juxtaposition of fire and water. I love the pose and expression looking up to the sky. It's so goregous.
