Original preliminary artwork by Brian Bysouth created for the British Quad poster for England Made Me, directed by Peter Duffell. This lot comes from the personal collection of Brian Bysouth. Set in 1930s Germany, the film follows English businessman Anthony Farrant (Michael York), who visits his twin sister Kate (Hildegarde Neil) and becomes involved in the corrupt world of her fiancé, financier Erich Krogh (Peter Finch). The artwork is executed in gouache on illustration board and features a detailed portrait of Krogh rendered in shades of blue. Bysouth has signed the piece in pencil, and it is accompanied by a protective vellum overlay. Sold without copyright; see copyright notice in the Terms and Conditions.
The board exhibits minor marks and tape residue. Notably down both sides. However, the artwork remains unaffected.
