Clint Langley, Clubbing While a Killer’s on the Loose (from Under the Floorboards Graphic Novel)

There's something very off about these two. And it's not that they're picking each other up in a club. Well, actually, it kind of is, when there's a cannibal killer on the loose.

But it also seems they're both hiding something. The man's face almost looks like a well-worn mask, especially when contrasted with the woman's flawless alabaster skin. But considering how hard she looks in the third panel, could her beauty be a mask as well? And speaking of things not being what they appear to be: in the final panel, is the man smiling – or dead?
