Jade and Nobushu - Spirit Swordsman

Spirit swordsmen are warriors who serve no master but wander the world. These animal-like spirits from another realm, search for children in danger and rescue them. Those who succesfuly rescue children can form an inserapable bond. This grants the child the powers of this spirit and they can call upon it whenever they need it. Not all spirits are benevolent though...some influnce the children to seek power over others. This is rare but possible. Fortunatly for Jade, Nobushu is a kind spirit and rescued her during the Purge when Empress Amerante overthrew the governmentof Rykuna, killing all who opposed her rule.  Jade was orphaned and living on the streets when Nobushu came to her aid.
