For this show, I created three cover pieces as tributes to the characters and teams that completely pulled me in the very first time I encountered them in comics — the ones that instantly made me want to dive deeper into their worlds.
One of the characters that left that kind of impression on me was The Phantom. What I’ve always loved about him is that strange, almost dreamlike collision of pulp adventure, jungle mythology, and unwavering old-school heroism. With this piece, I wanted to channel the feeling of discovering a forgotten adventure novel cover hidden on a dusty shelf growing up — mysterious ruins swallowed by time, grim symbols of death scattered through the jungle, the loyal wolf companion at his side, and the Phantom charging headlong into danger as though the legend itself refuses to die.
