Justice League Quarterly # 3 Pg. 36

Bob Smith was always a competent inker. Not really flashy in any way, just solid in finishing up whoever he was working over. But in this story, I have to say, it's the first time I can remember thinking that Smith's inks really shine in any book. He and McKone really did some nice work here.

Your summary of Bob Smith's work mirrors my thoughts; I remember buying pages he inked over Joe Staton on Huntress and Tom Lyle on Starman and felt they were fine, but not spectacular. 

When I bought the JLQ # 3 pages from him I was really impressed with the artwork (and I really liked the zany story) which is why I kept a bunch of the pages in my collection.  I find it pretty amazing that the quality of the artwork in this issue was consistently excellent given it was over 70 pages and there were no assistant inkers!

That's a very very practical costume our good friend the Sorceress is wearing here.

(and yet, Archer manages to look her straight in the eyes in panel 4, proof he is both a true super hero and a gentleman).

I really like that first full page length vertical panel / half splash - like it's being shot from an overhead/ceiling camera angle almost.
