They made these savage Ewoks seem friendly through the cartoons and live action movies after ROTJ. It made us think that these guys weren't the same ones wanting to make human rotisserie out of Han, Chewie, and Luke.

You are correct! Definitely season 2 because of the costume detail changes. This is from Season 2 Episode 13, the first story titled Party Ewok, when he first enters the hut behind Knessa around the 1 minute 40 second mark.
