Elflord #2 pg.15 (1986)

I really liked Elflord & Barry Blair's work. 

(thinking) Wait a minute... This feels all wrong. Just because they're doing it doesn't mean I have to. Why the hamburger made from frozen beef? They'll be all dry. Is that a fresh, juicy, frozen hamburger? This is ridiculous! (out-loud) I deserve a hot, juicy burger. That's right, you heard me. I deserve a hot, juicy burger! And not because I can tear a phonebook with my bare hands, no!! I deserve a hot juicy burger because I have a mouth... And it wants one. (whispers) And so do you. (out-loud) AND SO DO DO YOU!! HOT, JUICY BURGER!! HOT, JUICY BURGER!! HOT, JUICY BURGER!! HOT, JUICY BURGER!! That's right!"

Sweet Elflord page, meticulous hand done detail throughout including that great lettering, 1986 was also a great year for Elf characters with swords in general as it's the same year Legend of Zelda and Link would grace the CRT sceeens of Japanese and American Nintendo gamers!!

Super cool.  Aircel was one of my favorite 80s indie publishers.  So many fun titles, including Elford, Samurai, and of course Dale Keown's Dragonforce.  Just one look at this page and you totally get that 80s indie vibe.  Almost makes me want to go digging into my old comic boxes.

Highly sought after 80's era elf art!  It had the great indie comics spirit of the time when D&D was at its peak and before the big two got into fantasy.  Blair put some mature edge to the story and look that appealed to the genre's fandom.

Wow, this is beautiful artwork! Love the different tones with high contrasting shadows in the foreground! Major congrats!

I was still selling comic books at locat shows when this issue came out.  At the time, it was a HOT comic book and very quickly sold for several times the cover price. 

Congratulations on obtaining a great page from this early independent comic that helped spur the comic book speculation market!!!
