Gargoyle by Joel Adams and Laura Martin

My Hulk Friends, Foes, and Family Sketchbook is my favorite skecthbook, dedicated to the history of my favorite character,  Joel Adams was the character designer for the 1996 Incredible Hulk animated series, so I thought a little outside the box and asked him to contribute to my book at the 2026 Heroes Con.  I usually only ask comic artists, but this series is a part of The Hulk's history, as well (and an awesome part, at that).

I asked him to choose a character from my list and he asked if he could do Gargoyle in the style of the series and I didn't hesitate in saying yes.  I then asked Laura Martin to color it in order to give it the full nostalgia pop and this is now one of my favorite skecthes in the book.

I was afraid no one would choose Gargoyle but, with Joel being the one to do so, he both ensured the animated series is represented in my book, as well as the villain from the first issue of THE INCREDIBLE HULK.  Couldn't be happier with this sketch.
