Scarlet Witch by Daniel Hooker (2026) - HeroesCon Auction Win

Very cool Scarlet Witch painting! The style and the colors really stand out. Thanks for exposing a new artist/name as well. Also there's just something cool about an oversized square proportioned piece like this, displays real well when in a square frame and this is display worthy! Congrats on the first Heroes auction win.

Agree with everything you said.  It's certainly an attention grabber.  And yes, I love the pose.  Plus the fishbowl effect of the background.  It all works great.

I really dig the background and the floating candles.  Nice score!!!

The fact that it's square instead of rectangular makes it feel more liike a fine art piece. Drawing her diving towards the camera as opposed to the typical "standing there, posing" really elevates this above most other illustrations as well. Congrats on the win!

Lovely swirling shapes and bold colours. The fisheye lens effect for the background library is very effective.

I will admit I have never heard of Daniel Hooker before, but this piece is definitely eye catching and I can 100% understand why you ended up picking it up!!

Great color palette and sense of motion / action here.  Really love the Ditko hands, too (you can't be a true Marvel mystic without the Ditko hands).  I find the square shape really compelling, too, and it contributes to a different viewing experience than the "letterbox" proportions we're more accustomed to.  Congrats on a lovely auction win!

We all seeing a billion depictions of Scarlet Witch, which makes it challenging to see a unique spin on the character.
Daniel certainly put his own unique touch on the character with this dynamite, ouji board floating cnadle like scene.
