Another title page pickup from the recent Comic Connect auction.

This wasn’t something I was specifically looking for, but it’s Breyfogle, it’s busy, and it’s detailed. I love busy pages — even when they don’t make a lick of sense.

This one is also signed twice: once worked into the art above the contributor bar, and again at the bottom.

One of the coolest parts is the fake newspaper stuff. I love seeing the creative movie titles and ads they came up with for Gotham. I would really like to see the rest of that Bob’s Nevada ad.

This one wasn’t quite as cheap as the Captain Atom title page, but it was still pretty reasonable.

I do have two questions about this page.

First, have you ever seen anyone hold a newspaper the way Commissioner Gordon is holding this one? It’s almost like Breyfogle is saying, “Yes, I know how to draw hands. No, I have no idea how people hold newspapers.”

Second, what is that alien language at the top right of the newspaper? It’s on both the original art and the published page, so it wasn’t just some random production artifact.

And finally, I have to wonder what X-rated flick was playing at the Go-Gang Theatre.
