10.5x16" artboard w/pen an ink original art for the title splash page 21 of Superman #247, published by DC Comics January 1972. Pencil art is by comic artist Curt Swan (1920-1996), best known as the artist most associated w/Superman titles during the period fans and historians call the Silver Age of comic books. Inks by Murphy Anderson (1926-2015). Story by Denny O'Neil (1939-2020) "The Private Life of Clark Kent: When On Earth..." Synopsis has Clark Kent (Superman) and Jimmy Olsen dealing w/the subjects of teen gang violence and the woes of smoking. Clark deals with the teens as Clark Kent and doesn't use his abilities as Superman in the story. Of particular note of interest is that in the credit line on this title page, credits are for "Art By: C. Douglas Swan & M. Clyde Anderson." Signed in pen by Curt Swan and Murphy Anderson. Minor tape glue residue in top and bottom margins. Top margin has stamped title w/issue/page number in marker. Back has DC copyright inkstamp. Lt. aging/handling wear. Art remains clean and Exc.
