Angel Special: Lorne, pg. 39 (pg. 4)

I’d been hoping to find one of those rare Funky Winkerbean fill-in comic strips Byrne did for Tom Batuik back in the early aughts because I really wanted an example of Byrne’s more cartoony style.  Luckily, this backup story 4-pager covers that base really well, with Byrne pushing his style to add to the vibe and storytelling.  Here, Brian Lynch and Byrne close up this cutest of horror stories in Byrne’s oeuvre, and finish a short chapter for the swankiest green demon lounge singer in TV’s history.
