Johnny Comet 2/17/52

A speedway owner is stalked by a mysterious enemy + reaches out to Johnny and Jean for help! 

This is the 3rd Johnny Comet sunday from a run of 50 sunday newspaper strips that started on 2/3/52. From 1952 to 1953, a young 24 yr. old Frank Frazetta drew the comic for McNaught Syndicate. Despite re-naming it"Ace McCoy" in the middle of the run, the strip was cancelled after a year. 

At one time, this particular strip belonged to Jimmy and Danny Brucker, famous for owning a hot rod + movie car museum in Buena Park CA. They were associated with custom car builders Ed" Big Daddy Roth" and Van Dutch. Following the museums closure circa 1979, the contents along with this strip were liquidated in a 2006 Sotheby's auction.
